Our Story

What began as a series of weekly arts-based classes and social outings for young adults on the autism spectrum has become a true community center with a talented staff that offers an 18+ transition school program in partnership with the Austin Independent School District, as well as a variety of Social Creativity recreational clubs and vocational training programs that run throughout the year. All Greenleaf NCC programs use a multi-disciplinary approach that incorporates art, drama, digital media, creative writing, and music. And, all Greenleaf NCC activities are designed to promote friendships, creative self-expression, social skills, workplace readiness, wellness, and a sense of community belonging and lifelong learning. There’s a mix of in-person and on-line activities, and more than 50 individuals are participating now on a regular basis.
